Age Calculator

Pick your date of birth and the calculator shows how old you are today in years, months and days, how many days you have been alive, and the day of the week you were born on. The next-birthday box tells you how many days are left and which age you will turn. If you were born on 29 February, your birthday is counted on 1 March in years without a 29 February, which is the convention most legal systems use.

The Korean age section shows three numbers that often confuse people. International age is what the rest of the world uses: you are born at zero and gain a year on each birthday. Counting age, the traditional Korean way, starts at one at birth and adds a year every 1 January, so a baby born on 31 December is two the next morning. Year age is simply the current year minus the birth year. Since June 2023 Korean law uses international age by default, but year age is still used for school entry, conscription and the drinking age, so knowing all three is useful when dealing with Korean forms.

The zodiac signs are derived from the birth date alone. The Western sign follows the usual date ranges (Aries starts on 21 March, and so on). The Chinese zodiac animal is taken from the Gregorian year, which is right for most people, but the Chinese year actually begins at Lunar New Year, somewhere between 21 January and 20 February. If you were born in January or early February, check whether that year's Lunar New Year had already passed; if not, your animal is the previous year's.
